DAY ONE
We started off by taking a flight from Phoenix toOrlando to Manchester. We arrived at the airport ready to roll. Here we are waiting for our rental car just outside of the terminal.
From the airport we drove north to the Lake District. It is a beautiful part of England and is located just below Scotland. We stayed in a quaint little town called Boughness. (Pronounced Boe - ness)
This is us wandering the town that first night evening looking for a place to eat.
DAY TWO
After a good night's sleep, we began our exploration of the English countryside. We had three hikes planned for the first part of our trip in the Lake District. The first full day we went on a hike up a small mountain. In the UK they call it "fell walking". Back home in AZ, we call it hiking. Fell walking sounds a little tamer. Let's do that instead. It was supposed to be 8 miles. It was uphill both ways and definitely longer than 8 miles.
The whole way up to the top, Mum would ask every time we took a rest stop, "Is this the summit?" Nope.
Coming back down was a little easier.
DAY THREE
We went for another hike. To mum's dismay, we again went up a mountain.
The views were still incredible though.
Matty and I found a little waterfall to climb up while we waited for Mum, Dad and Laura to catch up.
Mum and Laura try to decide which camera to use to capture the amazing views.
